EXPANDING FUNCTIONS AND OPPORTUNITIES OF BANKING CARDS

One of the main problems of the development in banking is a need to improve payment infrastructure. The extensive digitalization of economics in Russia requires vigorous implementation of IT in the national payment system. The digitalization of the banking system makes it possible to substantially expand the functions of bank cards. Nowadays non-financial services of bank cards and their equivalents attract particular interest in the world. The proposed article provides a list of such transactions and the possibility of their implementation through commercial banks as an extension of customer service within the Russian payment system “MIR”. It is assumed that the introduction of non-financial services will simplify the processes of identification of citizens, as well as offer individual socio-economic solutions that arise in the process of mass implementation of information systems in public life. The authors illustrate the advantages and disadvantages of every technical solution. The model comparison of mediums for non-financial services is offered. The article describes the specifics of interaction between various organizations in the process of creating and implementing non-financial services, provides algorithms for their implementation in practice, and suggests ways of state control over the practice of their use in Russia. For the study, the method of statistical observation and analysis, as well as the method of a systematic approach, was used. To identify the advantages and disadvantages of each technical solution, their comparative analysis was carried out on the basis of statistical data.
