In modern conditions, there is a unique overlap between the necessary factors for the professional development of the student’s personality: firstly, there is a state request for the release of real, meaningful and initiative areas of training of specialists that are a priority for the development of society; secondly, the need to match the quality of the educational space of the university with the educational and upbringing tasks required in the competitive professional world is realized. The process of professional development itself is quite complicated, but at the same time, it is interconnected with the process of personal professional development of a student at the stage of transition from youth to adulthood. Therefore, it is necessary to implement a system to support the professional and personal development of students in the educational process, i. e. organizational and psychological support. Psychological and pedagogical support of the professional development of the student’s personality orients the educational process towards the formation of psychological readiness for professional activity. The article presents a brief theoretical analysis of the professional development of a student’s personality at all levels of vocational training, which made it possible to develop and test a model of psychological and pedagogical support for the professional development of a university student’s personality at all levels of vocational training. The purpose of the model is to create favorable conditions for optimizing personal and professional potential, readiness to master the chosen profession and assist in the implementation of personal and professional goals and prospects. The model includes three stages: diagnostics; professional socialization; professionalization. The diagnostic stage involves the identification of the professional and personal qualities of the student for further planning of psychological and pedagogical support. At the second stage of support, the educational and production trajectory of the student’s further entry into the profession is determined. The third stage is aimed at designing personal and professional goals and prospects.
