The article gives an analysis of approaches to the interpretation of the concept of “adaptation”, its structural and functional classification with an emphasis on the ability to realize physical exertion, taking into account the direction and control modules of differentiation of clusters of human activity. It seems that, on the one hand, the adaptation mechanisms are saturated with publications, both in retrospective terms and in our days, on the other hand, in most cases, scientific research is overloaded with duplication of transcriptions of definition, tautology and substitution of concepts, which complicates the authenticity of feedback and the possibility of full control over the state of reproduction of health-forming content. Even in a perfectly healthy person, the effect of episodic near-limit physical activity, previously realized in youth during competitions, entrance exams, tests, and various inspections, with regard to its prolonged aftereffects, such as stroke, cataracts, or glaucoma in old age, has not been informatively studied. The main methodological basis of the study is the theory of adaptation and plastic support of body functions. It is established that the use of physical exertion for a person should be based on a sufficient scientific substantiation of the criteria for pedagogical and medical-biological control; selection of relevant multi-sets of exercises, based on the existing contingent on the same type of manifestation of motor skills; the procedure for dosing the intensity of loads should be selective in nature with permanent control of the physical condition by means of valid registration with favorable “shifts” in psychophysical conditions. For further progressive improvement of the individual, predictors-exercises should act predominantly in the zone of high and submaximal power, as well as the amplitude of body recovery parameters as a concept of the “cost of work”.
