Annotation: The article is devoted to the formation of skills of schoolchildren’s participation in the electoral process through the implementation of game situations based on the use of educational games. The implemented game activity allows you to direct pedagogical influence on the formation of personality, motivation for learning, development of communicative abilities and other competencies through the acquisition of social skills of communication and cooperation. This will ultimately make it possible to get acquainted with the fundamental principles of the organization of the electoral process in Russia and the election procedure in a non-standard way. The educational game presented in the article implements two game lines. The first is schoolchildren, some of whom play the role of representatives of political parties, and the others are the electorate. The second line of the game is the jury, who exercise “public control” over the election procedure. The goal of the game is to gain the largest number of votes from the electorate, which is achieved through the involvement of players in public speaking and discussions on the problems of modern reality, which in turn contributes to the development of public speaking and communication skills. The educational game consists of two stages: the presentation of the parties’ ideologies and the political struggle, during which the skills of schoolchildren’s participation in the electoral process are tested and their knowledge of social studies is assessed. The use of the developed educational game in the process of generalizing knowledge in social studies lessons or in extracurricular activities, organized and built as close as possible to the real electoral process, contributes to the formation of students’ civic position and awareness of their influence on the development of society and their country.
