In the context of the active development of Russian-
Chinese cooperation in the field of physical culture
and sports, including joint sports projects, coaching exchanges,
and the adaptation of Chinese athlete training methods, there
is a growing demand for specialists proficient in Chinese at
the level of professional communication.
The article presents the results of the first year of Chinese
language instruction for students in two training programs
at Tula State Lev Tolstoy Pedagogical University:
Pedagogical Education (Physical Culture and Additional
Education) (number of students = 10) and Physical Culture
for Persons with Disabilities (Adaptive Physical Culture)
(number of students = 5). Based on pedagogical observation,
surveying, and academic performance analysis, significant
differences in motivation, academic discipline,
and the nature of linguodidactic difficulties were identified
between the groups. Students in the Physical Culture and
Additional Education program demonstrate higher academic
indicators: average dictation score (3.9 vs. 3.4), Pinyin
reading speed (42 vs. 35 characters/min), and homework
completion rate (100% vs. 60%). At the same time, students
in the Adaptive Physical Culture program exhibit higher
intrinsic professional motivation: 100% of them associate
learning Chinese with communication in the field of adaptive
physical culture.
Differences in motivation and academic performance
between students of the two physical education majors in learning
Chinese have been identified. A differentiated approach
is substantiated for the transition to a professionally oriented
course in the second year as a factor in increasing graduates’
competitiveness in the labor market. Practical recommendations
for developing variable modules for each training profile
are proposed. |
