In the context of rapid digitalization of education
and interdisciplinary integration of knowledge, it is
important for future biology teachers to develop not only
subject-specific competence, but also engineering thinking,
which involves the ability to analyze, design, model,
and solve complex problems.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the practice
of organizing educational activities in the disciplines “Methods
of Teaching Biology,” “Educational Technologies in Teaching
Biology,” and “Solving Professional Problems of Biology
Teachers” for students of a pedagogical university, which aim
to develop students’ engineering thinking using a digital educational
environment.
The article discusses the theoretical foundations and practical
approaches to developing engineering thinking among
biology students within the framework of a digital educational
environment. The pedagogical expediency of introducing
project-oriented, research, and simulation teaching methods,
as well as the use of digital tools (virtual laboratories, bioinformatics
platforms, CAD systems, and IoT devices), is substantiated.
The article proposes methodological approaches
to organizing educational activities that ensure a transition
from reproductive knowledge acquisition to creative engineering
and pedagogical practice.
The implementation of the model for the development
of engineering thinking proposed by the authors meets
the strategic priorities of the country’s scientific and technological
development and the current requirements of the Federal
State Educational Standard. The synthesis of biological content
with engineering technologies creates conditions for training
a new generation of teachers who can effectively work in a digital
educational environment and develop skills in students that
are in demand in their future professional activities. The model
described by the authors in the article can be used in updating
the main professional educational programs for teachers
of other natural sciences and in the development of regulations
governing the digitalization of teacher education. |
