The relevance of this study stems from the need to improve the level of legal education for both parents and children. Family upbringing, in which parents play a direct and immediate role, contributes to the development of legal knowledge and skills in minors. Without a high level of legal literacy among parents themselves, it is impossible to develop a systematic and effective approach to legal education for the younger generation. Based on an analysis of legal regulations governing upbringing and education, the opinions of scholars, and a study of key concepts such as “legal culture,” “legal consciousness,” and “legal education,” this article outlines the role and potential of the modern family as the primary institution for the legal socialization of adolescents. Focusing family efforts on developing legal literacy and legal education among young people will help prevent and curb undesirable negative forms of misconduct among minors. In this regard, the methods and means of legal education currently available to parents are analyzed, some problems in family legal education are identified, and practical recommendations are formulated. In particular, it is proposed to intensify efforts to educate minors in the spirit of established family traditions, with parents serving as positive role models. Legal responsibility and compliance with the law demonstrated by adults serve as a solid guide for developing minors’ intrinsic motivation to lead lawful lives. Furthermore, parents’ legal self-education and selftraining is a key challenge; without adequate training, it is difficult to develop and achieve a high level of legal awareness among minors. |
