Annotation:

The article is devoted to the issue of arrangement of the life environment for handicapped persons in the process of the integrated school education. The author has revealed the concept of the ‘barrier-free environment’, has described the characte­ristics inherent in it: availability, universality, social expediency, functional expediency, ecological expediency, informational sufficiency. In the presented work the interrelation between the lack of required conditions for education and emergence of the issues of social adaptation has been examined.
