The article has examined the process of establishing the public opinion regarding the social networks and its connection with their introduction into the process of education. The mechanism of establishing the negative image of social networks in the social and pedagogical aspects has been reviewed on the example of the USA. The conclusion regarding the impact of the public opinion on the social perception of networks in the educational environment, as well as on their scientific examination has been made. Analysis of TV (on the example of ‘Vesti’ channel) as the factor of establishing the public opinion has demonstrated that currently the negative image of the social networks in mass-media has been created. The considerable role is played by the infringements of the law using social networks during conducting the unified state exam. It has been underlined that the state and mass-media play significant role in establishing the image of the social networks.
