This paper examines the problems of economic inequality of the entities of the Russian Federation. Potential for searching for job is high in big cities in contrast to the small towns, where tension at the labor market results from the low industrial diversification of production. The labor market of the Republic of Kalmykia is analyzed as an example, where economic situation does not allow strengthening of the labor market, which results in high level of unemployment. In order to activate labor market of the Republic of Kalmykia, establishing of diversified education of citizens is proposed, as well as considering the issue of the state support from the Federal Center as to one of the most economically depressed regions of Russia for stimulation of the economic growth.
