The article deals with the problem of forming professional competencies of students in the process of management training. The paper highlights a special role of the formation of these competences in the context of modern requirements for effective management, including multinational teams, gives characteristics of professional competence and the structure of its components to assess the conformity of the acquired knowledge and skills to the requirements of the manager’s profession. Research data is given as for the development of methodological means for assessing the degree of formation of professional competencies in the process of studying the discipline «Management» in a higher educational institution.
