Annotation:

In a market economy, the problem of quality is the most important factor in improving the standard of living, economic, social and environmental security. Quality is a complex concept that characterizes the effectiveness of all aspects of activity: development of strategy, organization of production, marketing, etc.the most Important component of the entire quality system is the quality of products. In modern literature and practice, there are different interpretations of the concept of quality. No definition distorts the essence, but only supplements it. Under the quality of the product is understood as a whole set of its consumer properties, which determine the degree of suitability of the product to meet certain needs in accordance with its purpose in fixed conditions of consumption. There are two main approaches to product quality management: process and system approaches. The grain market is the largest market of agricultural raw materials, which forms all other agricultural and food markets. Grain crops have become widespread throughout the Volgograd region, due to the variety of environmental characteristics, their species and varieties, having both food and feed value (use as animal feed). The article summarizes the theoretical approaches that determine the essence of quality as a socio‑economic category and the object of management; established the clarity of the formalization of the conceptual apparatus of the categories of standardization and certification; formulated the definition of the main indicators of quality management of grain production and the factors affecting its formation; analyzed the state of quality management in; the directions of improvement of quality management of crop production at the enterprise of the Volgograd region are developed.
