Annotation:

The changes taking place in the modern VUCA-world, which is unstable and dual, contribute to transformation of all systems of society. Radical changes in political, economic and spiritual spheres of life entail changes in value orientations and behavior of people in their professional activities. Priorities that previously seemed unshakeable are being replaced by other, better defining realities of life. It is personal meanings that determine the specifics and nature of a person’s relationship with their environment and determining their behavior. The latter factor is important for analyzing the personal senses of organization leaders as a social phenomenon in the transforming Russian reality. For meaning, as a basic concept reflecting the dominance of mental activity, forms the attitude to work and its further productivity. The article presents the results of the research of professional senses of managers of various organizations on the following criteria: understanding and appreciation of the work meaning, personal sense for the manager, connection between work efficiency and its meaning, the meaning of employees’ work seen by the managers, sense generation. Studying the correlation between professional (“I-concept”, organization, society) and life senses allowed us to concretize the personal senses that determine the labor orientation of the leader’s personality. On the basis of the obtained results we revealed a weak point for the process of implementation of the transformation concept on the basis of senses, which manifests itself in the direction of the leader’s personality towards themselves (“self-concept”) in the definition of personal senses and perception of employees as the company`s main resource. Strong points for this concept’s implementation are personal senses of the leaders directed at society and organization, as well as establishing connection between the efficiency of activity and its meaningfulness, and also the process of meaning generation.
