The relevance of the study is due to the practical orientation of the modern educational paradigm, in which data analysis becomes the main tool for obtaining new scientific conclusions in psychological and pedagogical experiments, which emphasizes the need for basic mathematical training of researchers. The presented study is aimed at unlocking the potential of the statistical testing toolkit for statistical hypotheses without the use of special packages for statistical data processing and preliminary mathematical training of the researcher. The article presents the results of a long-term pedagogical experiment on the development of pedagogical approaches in the traditional upbringing of Even children by organizing a summer nomad camp in the period from 2002 to 2017 in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) of the Russian Federation. The methodology for applying the Wilcoxon statistical test is described in detail, allowing us to determine the significant statistical relevance of typical shifts in linked samples. The results of the achievements of Even children before and after visiting the nomad camp were used as linked samples in this study. The main problem of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North, including the Evens, is isolation from the traditional nomadic way of life, which is the result of the historical past of our country, almost 80 % of the Evens today do not speak their native Even language. The article describes in detail an example of statistical calculations, which made it possible to obtain a quantitative confirmation of the main pedagogical achievements in the course of the pedagogical experiment on the construction and testing of a new form of traditional education of children of the indigenous small peoples of the North in the form of a summer nomad camp. The materials of the article are of practical value for specialists in data analysis in the psychological and pedagogical sciences.
