DEVELOPING A VALUE-BASED ATTITUDE TOWARDS READING CHILDREN’S LITERATURE AMONG STUDENTS OF PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITIES: THEORETICAL ASPECTS

Annotation:

The article substantiates education as a priority direction and the most important component of the university educational process that contributes to the formation and self-realization of students’ personality; reveals the social significance of reading children’s literature, which acts as a regulator of students’ behaviour in their academic and professional activities; confirms the relevance of the research problem due to the decreasing interest in reading among the population, the practical interest in reading children’s literature in the process of education, in the learning activities and communication of pedagogical university students. The article confirms the weak development of the problem of forming value-based attitude to reading children’s literature among pedagogical university students; reveals the peculiarities of studying value-based attitude in philosophy, psychology, pedagogy; confirms the theoretical significance of forming valuebased attitude of pedagogical university students to reading children’s literature, determined by the results of scientific analysis that integrates philosophical, psychological, pedagogical provisions, conceptually significant ideas for solving this problem; substantiates productive ideas, allowing to introduce the pedagogical concept of “developing value-based attitude to reading children’s literature among pedagogical university students” into the scientific context; proposes the research strategy for forming value-based attitude to reading children’s literature among pedagogical university students built on the ideas of systemic, axiological and activity-based approaches. The purpose of the article is to reveal the theoretical aspects of the problem of developing the value-based attitude of pedagogical university students to reading children’s literature, its main features and research strategies. The authors propose new ideas underlying the elaborated concept of “developing the value-based attitude to reading children’s literature among pedagogical university students”. The results of the study can be used to organize the educational process in a pedagogical university.
