Annotation:

Recently, teachers have increasingly experienced mental health problems related to professional activity. This is due to the fact that educational institutions bear a great responsibility to the administration, parents and other society, as a result of which neurotic disorders arise. Emotional burnout of teachers is a rather dangerous disease in the professional sphere, leading to chronic depression. The article discusses the concept of emotional burnout of teachers. The very concept of emotional burnout, its characteristics and ways of protecting teachers from emotional burnout are revealed. The burnout syndrome is defined in the article as a persistent negative emotional state. The article reveals the main causes of the emotional state of modern teachers and methods of correction and prevention. The purpose of the study is to analyze the literature on the problem of emotional burnout of university teachers in the realities of the present time. To achieve it, the following tasks were set: to consider the concept of emotional burnout; to reveal the features of teachers’ burnout; to consider the factors of teachers’ social burnout. The significance of the study is seen in an attempt to analyze the causes of emotional burnout of teachers of higher educational institutions in the realities of the present time. One of the most common obstacles to the professionalism, creativity and self-realization of teachers is professional burnout. This is a state of physical, emotional and mental exhaustion of a person, a mechanism of psychological protection in the form of complete or partial exclusion of emotions in response to traumatic influences. Quite often, emotional burnout is the result of a prolonged professional stress reaction of moderate intensity.
