INNOVATION STRATEGIES OF AN ENTERPRISE: DEFINITION, TYPES, CLASSIFICATION

Annotation:

The purpose of the article is to explore the concepts of “innovation” and “innovation strategy”, the analysis of types of innovation strategies, analysis of different approaches to the description of innovation and innovation strategies by different authors. Based on the scientific literature of both Russian and foreign scientists, the authors analyze the basic concepts of the topic under study. The paper explores different views on the definition of the concept of “innovation”, identifying the main differences and approaches to the definition of the term by different authors. The analysis of the concepts of strategy and innovation strategy is carried out; the distinctive features in various interpretations are revealed. The paper studies innovative strategies of an enterprise. The research focuses on concepts and terminology of innovations, types of innovation strategies and their key distinguishing features. In the article, based on the analysis of scientific literature, the classification features of innovation strategies are determined, on the basis of which a classification of types of innovation strategies is developed with a description of key features. As a result of the study, eight main classification features of innovation strategies are identified: reaction to the external and internal environment, stage of application of the strategy, dependence on the marketing strategy, market position, industry affiliation, scale of implementation, degree of risk, and depth of changes. Based on the identified classification features, the types of innovation strategies are identified, and their key features are described. The necessity of introducing innovation strategies into the activities of the enterprise to ensure competitiveness in the market is substantiated. It is concluded that in order to effectively respond to changing parameters of the external environment, enterprises need to form and implement various innovation strategies, taking into account classification features.
