DIAGNOSTICS OF THE LEVEL OF FORMATION OF THE BEHAVIORAL COMPONENT OF COMMUNICATION CULTURE IN STUDENTS

Annotation:

The relevance of the research is due to the tasks of the education system to form a culture of communication as part of the general culture of students. The article is devoted to the comprehension of such a polysemous concept as “communication culture”. Many teachers and psychologists have considered issues related to communication. The authors present an analysis of its definitions in the psychological and pedagogical literature. It is noted that communication culture considers the peculiarities of personal behavior in interpersonal interaction with others, through verbal and nonverbal means of communication, including communicative abilities and communication skills. The article pays special attention to adolescence. In interaction, adolescents acquire the necessary skills of life in society, the ability to obey collective discipline. It is during this period that the formation of the main components reflecting the essence of the culture of communication takes place: value-semantic, cognitive, activity. The main indicators are behavior and speech. The formation of communication culture is the task of modern education. The main purpose of the article is to present materials on identifying the levels of formation of the behavioral component of communication culture among students. The authors selected diagnostic tools (Leary interpersonal relationship test; questionnaire “Culture of communication”, by T. M. Khrustaleva; “Communicative and organizational abilities”, by V. V. Sinyavsky and V. A. Fedoroshin) and offered empirical material. 60 adolescents aged 14 were selected for diagnosis. The study showed that the majority of adolescents have a low level of formation of the behavioral component of communication culture, expressed in conflict with both peers and adults. They are annoyed if the interlocutor is verbose when communicating, it is difficult for them to imagine themselves in the place of another, and they often interrupt the speaker when communicating with others. This is due to the psychological and pedagogical characteristics of this age. The paper actualizes the need for special measures in educational organizations to form communication culture among students. There is a great potential in the use of means of oral folklore, which makes it possible to further study this problem.
