COMPETENCE PROFILE OF A TEACHER OF ECONOMIC DISCIPLINES AT A UNIVERSITY: STUDENTS’ OPINION

Annotation:

The research, specification and improvement of the competence characteristics of a teacher of economic disciplines is an important direction in improving the quality and effectiveness of educational interaction with students. In the absence of a professional standard of a university teacher, the creation of a detailed competence profile is important and significant. The article highlights and analyzes various approaches to the formation of a teacher’s competence model in accordance with the key guidelines laid down in the regulatory framework of the field of education, as well as the request of the professional community. The authors present the results of a study of the basic concepts and requirements for competence elements in the segments of the activity of a university teacher, including research and communication. In the course of the research conducted in educational institutions of higher and secondary special education in St. Petersburg, the questionnaire developed by the authors, built on the basis of system-activity characteristics, was applied. The research methodology is based on analysis (based on the theoretical foundations of the formation of a university teacher`s competence profile), as well as inductive generalization (from particular results obtained during the modeling of competence profiles to general recommendations for the formation of assessment systems and conditions for entry into the profession for young professionals). The main parameters of the evaluation of the activity of a university teacher are specified, based on the results obtained, practical recommendations for the training and adaptation of young teachers entering the profession (graduate students, assistants), as well as for the professional development of a teacher, the choice of a professional development trajectory are developed. The analysis of both the key factors limiting the involvement of young people in the profession of a teacher and the factors stimulating the choice of teaching activities is carried out.
