In this article the author examines the experience of summer language sessions implemented in the framework of the language school «Big Ben» on the basis of Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University as one of the means of formation of social skills by learning a foreign language during the traditional holidays of children. The author reveals the concept of life skills and justifies the relevance of formation of social skills starting with primary school age. In the article the author presents the integrative model of teaching foreign languages built on the principle of the unity of the language and culture studies components with the integration of artistic and rhythmic elements. In the author’s view, this model represents a great potential for the development of life skills while learning foreign languages. |
