Some criteria of the cattle-breeding development in the regions of the North Caucasus

The article describes the role and importance of the cattlebreeding industry in the development of the livestock-breeding in the regions of the North Caucasus and examines the key factors of successful functioning of this sector of the agricultural economy of the North Caucasian Federal district; determines the value of geographical location of the regions in the development of cattlebreeding, the main area of which is located in the mountain and foothill areas, where there are all necessary conditions for the keeping and breeding of agricultural cattle-breeding; detailed comparative evaluation of some indicators characterizing the current state of cattle-breeding of the North-Caucasian regions is conducted; problematic aspects in the cattle-breeding development dynamics are identified, and the basic mechanisms of their effective solutions are proposed.
