Efficiency of electric grids management by reducing energy losses

The work presented the performed classification of energy losses in electric grid during transmission. A qualitative assessment of losses is given on a certain example; measures for their reduction are identified. Comparable options of required equipment installation are selected; re-evaluation of energy losses with regard to the fulfilled measures is performed. Assessment of economic efficiency of investments used for measures for the energy losses reduction is conducted. Cost-effectiveness analysis is carried out according to the criteria of net present value and payback period. Comparison of the time asynchronous indicators is accomplished by reducing indicators (discounting) to the value at a fixed time period. The project start-up is assumed as the point of reduction.
