Siberian power-transmission system: features and prospects of development

Annotation:

The article presents characteristic features of the interconnected power system of Siberia (Siberian UES). The necessity of power system operation using flows (transit) of power and energy is justified. Main issues of the current state of Siberia UES are identified based on the analysis results and prospects of development are examined based on this. Necessity of advance development of electric power engineering as a branch of national economy is justified. Analysis of accepted state programs allows identifying peculiarities of development of Siberian UES transmission lines with regard to the federal targeted programs approved within the development of Unified Power System (UPS) of Russia up to 2020.
