Current research is aimed to analyze industrial policy in Volgograd region during the period of 1992–2009. After the collapse of the Soviet system the question about the role of the state in the industrial development has become urgent. While liberal concept of refusal to manage industry by the government was dominated at the federal level, the opposite trends remained on the regional level. The pursuit of the active industrial policy of the state authorities did not depend on the regional head’s political membership and views. In all region authorities’ political programs the need for organization and effective management in the industrial sector is especially emphasized. |
