The industry and industrial complex in the economic science: theory problems

Annotation: The article has reviewed the different points of view on the understanding of the terms «industry» and «industrial complex». The approaches to understanding of the industry and industrial complex existing in the economic science have been systematized and classified by the authors as the market approach, non-market approach and the modern Russian one. The detailed conception of understanding of the essence of phenomena under investigation has been provided within the frame of each approach. The author’s definitions of these terms on the basis of the essential features of the industrial product, such as machine and artificiality have been proposed. The proposed definitions are new to the science of economics.
