The article examines the modern network form of production arrangement in the form of global added value chains. The authors analyze the main trends of the production location and value added distribution between developed and developing countries, reveal positive and negative consequences of developing countries’ integration in the international production networks of transnational corporations (TNCs). They also analyze changes in the international trade statistics that characterize trade flows from the position of value added; compare the role of the countries in the global trade according to the traditional approach, as well as to the new approach from the position of value added. The authors concluded the necessity of development of the own TNCs for the countries as a prerequisite of effective integration of national economies into the global reproductive process.
