The article discusses the features of distinguishing of the Baikal region among the entities of the Russian Federation. The problems and trends of the innovative development of the Baikal region are analyzed. The factors affecting the innovation activity of the region were investigated, such as the number of patents granted, the average annual value of fixed assets for research and development, the volume of scientific and technical activities performed by the research agencies, the cost of research and development, the amount of innovation products, works and services delivered; expenditure on technological innovation. To assess the impact of innovation factors on the gross regional product of the Baikal region, we conducted a regression-correlation analysis. The model and the most important innovation factors affecting gross regional product of Baikal region, such as the volume of scientific and technical activities performed by research organizations and the cost of technological innovation are identified. The short-term forecast of the Baikal region gross regional product increase through the development of innovative activities was made. |
